HSBC approved an insurance agent in Shanghai

A source from the China Banking Regulatory Commission Shanghai
Supervision Bureau said that the Shanghai Branch of the Hong Kong &
Shanghai Banking Corp. has been officially approved as an insurance agent
in Shanghai. The bank's next action was to apply for the necessary
license from the Shanghai Supervision Bureau, in an effort to provide
insurance services as soon as possible, said the bank's Chinese District
spokesman.
