How far can Chinese stock market go?

Chinanews, Beijing, Apr. 18 �C Chinese stock buyers are really excited
about the strong performance of the stock market these days. Information
shows that during the first quarter of this year, 5 million people opened
an account in the stock market, exceeding the total number of last year
and equaling the total population in a city. At the same time, trading
volume for the first quarter also surpassed the total trading volume for
the whole of last year. Many people plunged in, eager to take a share in
the lucrative market.
In contrast to people's great enthusiasm for buying stocks, many people
still do not pay enough attention to the possible risks involved and many
do not know how to control risks. Many people, especially novice
stockholders, think that it is very easy to earn big money from the
bullish market. They never give thought to the possibility of losing
money. They follow others in their trading activities, making the market
��go wild�� and become much more risky.
Although speculative activities dominate the domestic stock market, some
analysts say that in the short term, it is unlikely for the stock market
to experience a continuous drop.
At present, two dominating ideas exist in society that try to explain the
bullish performance of the stock market. One idea is that the share
reform lays a foundation for the healthy development of the stock market.
Listed companies are more transparent in their operation and investors
are more confident of the securities market. The second idea tries to
attribute stock prosperity to the high, sustainable growth of the Chinese
economy, which is said to have laid a solid foundation for the great
stock performance. So far, Chinese economy is still going well, making
many investors believe that stock market miracle will continue this year.
How far can Chinese stock market go and where is the peak point? So far,
the answer is still too early to tell.
