Europe's first Confucius college established

Chinanews, Beijing, Feb 21st (By Sun Yuting) - The first Confucius
College in Europe�CNorth Europe Stockholm Confucius College�Cwas
established in Stockholm University a few days ago.
The new college was inaugurated jointly by Stockholm University, China's
National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL) and
Shanghai Fudan University.
On February 18th, China's ambassador to Sweden, Mr. Lv Fengding, spoke at
the inauguration ceremony. He pointed out that the college would not only
promote the educational and cultural exchange between Sweden and China,
but also play an important and active role in strengthening the mutual
understanding and friendship of the two peoples, not to mention foster
the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries.
