China to issue "Taiwan Relics" special stamps
www.chinanews.cn 2005-01-27 15:23:59
In order to enable people to have a better understanding of Taiwan's
ancient relics, the State Post Bureau of China will be issuing a set of
special stamps named "Taiwan Relics". There are 5 different stamps in
each set, with 10 million sets to go into circulation. This set of stamps
is a continuation of the "Taiwan Sceneries" set that was issued in 1979.
The designer of the current edition used line sketchings to depict 5
different Taiwanese relics, leaving the observers with a clear
impression. With an integration of photoxylography and printing
techniques, the stamps are visually very appealing for their rich
multi-layer feel and strong 3D effect, presenting a novel experience for
the observers. From the day that these special stamps are issued, they
will be put up for sale in post offices all over the country for 6 months.
