China's largest hacker org. regroups
www.chinanews.cn 2005-04-22 13:28:54
Chinanews, Apr. 21 - Honker Union of China (HUC), China's earliest and
largest hacker organization, which ranks fifth in the world in terms of
size, has regrouped shortly after declaring its dissolution.
Honker Union of China, established by a man named Lion, was dissolved on
Dec.31st, 2004. On Jan.21st, 2005, a new HUC began to regroup led by
major members of the original HUC.
The new union sought a better server to guarantee web quality and called
up former members to return and support the site. Upon logging onto the
website www.chinahonker.com, four extremely eye-catching Chinese
characters, "Zhong Guo Hong Ke (China Honker)," spring up under the
familiar and exciting background music of the homepage.
Nearly 8,000 people have registered as members of HUC's forum, despite a
lack of promotion. There are some familiar names on the list of
registered members.
The website builder announced that it is not an organization anyway. The
website is called HUC to make up for the trauma brought on by HUC's
breakup, but most members believe it is, in fact, a brand-new HUC.
