15b yuan in extension of Shanghai Int'l Airport

Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd. released an announcement on
March 1st, stating that it plans to invest in the main extension project
of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with a budget of about 15
billion yuan. According to the company's 2004 annual report, Pudong
International Airport had 178,700 flights in 2004, an increase of 33.05%
over the previous year. It carried 21.0217 million passengers and 1.8788
million tons of cargo and mail, 39.55% and 38.43% higher than the
previous year, respectively. The per-share profit of Shanghai
International Airport was 0.67 yuan, an increase of nearly 100% over the
previous year. Return on net assets reached 16.32%, up from the 10.33% of
the previous year.
