www.chinanews.cn 2005-02-04 14:21:01
On February 3rd 2005, many Beijing residents brought their children, who
are home on vacation, to the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and
Control to receive "Group A and C" cerebrospinal meningitis vaccine
injection. Many adults also rushed to the hospital to receive the vaccine
injection as a safety precaution. This resulted in long queues in the
hospital. Experts mentioned that there were sufficient supplies of the
vaccines, and residents did not have to be too panicky and fight over
vaccine injections. On February 2nd, Beijing hospitals began to offer
vaccination for "Group A and C" meningitis to the public.
